Thurman Cemetery

Narrative

On July 4, 1974, J. K. Connor, Leslie Blough, and M. L. Williams visited the cemetery that was on the former E.E. Blough farm that was then the Manassas plant of the Woodbridge Brick Company and recorded the following markers.

Elizabeth, wife of R. Hixon, departed this life, June 8, 1850, age 26 years.
Margaret Fewell, departed this life 27th day of September 1825 in the 43rd year of her age
Robert Thurman, departed this life October 19, 1817, age 64 years
Thomas Thurman died July 26, 1826?

On May 18, 2019, a new marker for Thomas Thurman was installed by Virginia Sons of the American Revolution.

The plant stopped making bricks on June 14, 2019 but the property was used to store new bricks until November 2022.

David Cuff Nov. 29, 2020 There was a major cleanup at this Cemetery about 15 years ago but it slowly got overgrown so it was recently maintained by David Cuff and Jeff Gallop.
David Cuff Nov. 2022 Cemetery was mowed again. The brick plant is being demolished for redevelopment.
